Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the notification for AFCAT 01/2026 and NCC Special Entry for the courses starting in January 2027. Through this exam, eligible candidates can join the Air Force as Commissioned Officers in Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branches. Both male and female candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply online. The application process will be done only through the official AFCAT website afcat.edcil.co.in. The online application form will be available from 17 November 2025 to 14 December 2025. Interested candidates should apply within this given period.

AFCAT 01/2026 : Eligibility Criteria
Flying Branch (AFCAT Entry)
- Candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics, each with at least 50% marks.
- Along with this, the candidate must have one of the following:
- A 3-year Graduation degree in any stream with minimum 60% marks, or
- A BE/B.Tech degree (4 years) with minimum 60% marks, or
- Cleared Section A & B of AMIE (India) or Aeronautical Society of India with minimum 60% marks.
Ground Duty (Technical) Branch
Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) – AE(L)
- Must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics, each with at least 50% marks.
- Must have:
- A 4-year degree in Engineering/Technology, or
- Cleared Section A & B of AMIE / Aeronautical Society of India / Graduate Membership of IETE.
- In all cases, minimum 60% marks are required in the relevant engineering discipline as listed in the official notification.
Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) – AE(M)
- Must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics, each with at least 50% marks.
- Must have:
- A 4-year Engineering/Technology degree, or
- Cleared Section A & B of AMIE / Aeronautical Society of India.
- Must have minimum 60% marks in the relevant engineering discipline as mentioned in the official notification.
Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch
Weapon Systems (WS) Branch
- Must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics, each with at least 50% marks.
- Must have:
- A 3-year Graduation degree with 60% marks, or
- A BE/B.Tech degree with 60% marks.
Administration & Logistics
- Must have passed 10+2.
- Must have a Graduation degree (minimum 3-year course) with 60% marks, or
- Must have cleared Section A & B of AMIE / Aeronautical Society of India with 60% marks.
Accounts Branch
- Must have passed 10+2.
- Graduation must be in one of the following streams with 60% marks:
- B.Com
- BBA (Finance) / BMS (Finance) / BBS (Finance)
- CA / CMA / CS / CFA (Qualified)
- B.Sc (Finance specialization)
Education Branch
- Must have passed 10+2.
- Must have Post Graduation in any discipline with 50% marks.
- Must also have Graduation with 60% marks.
Meteorology Branch
- Must have passed 10+2.
- Must have:
- B.Sc degree with Physics and Mathematics and 60% marks, or
- 4-year Engineering/Technology degree with 60% marks in specified disciplines as mentioned in the notification.

Click on “New Candidate Registration” and fill your basic details like name, email ID, and mobile number. - Login to Your Account
After registration, use your registered email ID and password to log in. - Fill the Application Form
Enter personal details, educational qualifications, branch preferences, and communication address correctly. - Upload Required Documents
Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and other documents in the required format and size. - Pay the Application Fee (If Applicable)
Pay the exam fee online using Debit Card, Credit Card, UPI, or Net Banking.
(Note: No fee is charged for NCC Special Entry.) - Preview the Form
Carefully check all the details before submitting. Make corrections if needed. - Submit the Application Form
After verification, click Submit. - Download Application Form
Save and print the final submitted form for future reference.
