The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has opened the online application process for admission into Class 11 for the academic session 2026–27 through the Lateral Entry Selection Test (LEST). NVS Class 11th Admissions Notification 2026-27 : Age Limit 

• Candidate’s age must be between 14 to 18 years as on 1st July 2026.
• Likely date of birth should be between 1st June 2009 and 31st July 2011 (tentative).
• Age limit applies to all categories – no relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Divyang.
• Final age range will be confirmed in the official prospectus.

NVS Class 11th Admissions Notification 2026-27 : Total Sanctioned JNVs

• Total 661 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) sanctioned across India.
• Cover 638 districts, with some districts having 2 JNVs (SC/ST focus).
• Around 653–661 JNVs are currently operational.
• Policy: One JNV per district, with special cases for more.

NVS Class 11th Admissions Notification 2026-27 : Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Candidate must be studying in Class 10 during the academic session 2025–26.
• The school should be recognized by the CBSE, State Board, or any recognized board.
• The student must have passed Class 10 in the same district where admission to JNV is sought.
• Candidates who have already passed Class 10 in previous years are not eligible.

Selection Process

• Admission will be done through a Lateral Entry Selection Test (LEST).
• The test will be conducted in offline mode (OMR-based).
• The question paper will include objective-type questions (MCQs).
• Subjects include English, Science, Mathematics, Social Science & Mental Ability.
• Duration of the test: 2 hours 30 minutes.
• Selection will be based on merit and availability of seats in the concerned JNV.
