Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) invites online applications for taking admission in Class 9 in all JNVs through Lateral Entry Selection Test to the academic session 2026-27. All eligible and interested boys and girls can apply online at NVS official website navodaya.gov.in from 30th July 2025 onwards to till the application last date 23rd September 2025 for 9th class admission in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs).

NVS Class 9th Admissions Notification 2025-26 : Age Limit
|
- Candidate must be born between 1st May 2011 and 31st July 2013 (inclusive of both dates).
- This age range applies to all categories, including SC/ST.
- The student must be studying in Class 8 during the academic session 2025–26 in a government-recognized school.
- Candidates falling outside this age range will not be eligible to apply.

NVS Class 9th Admissions Notification 2025-26 : Total Sanctioned JNVs
|
- Total Sanctioned JNVs: 661 across India.
- Districts Covered: 638 (including special and additional districts).
- Currently Functional JNVs: Around 653.
- Additional JNVs: 10 in SC districts + 10 in ST districts.
- Special Case JNVs: 3 (Senapati-II, Ukhrul-II in Manipur, and Ratlam-II in MP).

Educational Qualification
- Student must be studying in Class 8 during the academic session 2024–25.
- Must be enrolled in a Government/Government-recognized school.
- School should be located in the same district where admission is sought in the JNV.
- Students not studying in Class 8 in 2024–25 are not eligible.
Selection Process
- Selection through Lateral Entry Selection Test (LEST).
- Exam subjects: Hindi, English, Maths, Science.
- Duration: 2 hours, total marks: 100.
- No negative marking.
- Selection based on district-wise merit in the exam.

How to Apply NVS Class 9th Admission Online Form 2025-26
|
- Visit the official website: navodaya.gov.in or cbseitms.nic.in.
- Click on Class 9 Lateral Entry Admission 2025 link.
- Register with required details (name, school, district, etc.).
- Upload photo, candidate’s and parent’s signatures.
- Submit the application and take a printout.
- Wait for admit card release and download it before the exam.
- Appear for the selection test on the scheduled date.
